Never forget what people stand for.  It can remind you of the difference between true heroism and common thuggery.

  1. I read an essay the other day that I’m sure you’d find interesting, which asks, “Why doesn’t communism have as bad a name as Nazism?” It mentions your boyfriend, Che, albeit in passing.

“There are Mao Restaurants in major cities in the Western world. Can one imagine Hitler Restaurants? Che Guevara T-shirts are ubiquitous, yet there are no Heinrich Himmler T-shirts.”

And I found this tongue-in-cheek comment on the essay funny.

"According to the more enlightened among us ... the problem with communism is that the people applying it haven't done it properly!

Sure they killed millions of people but their hearts were in the right place."

  2. That's exactly the point I think a lot of people don't get. Homicidal megalomaniacs are evil whether or not they bore a swastika.
    Thanks for the article!

  3. Anyone who wears a Che t-shirt hates capitalism more than they love human rights.

...Or they're just trying to impress their professor in the hopes of a better grade.

  4. And those Che t-shirts in all probability are made somewhere other than in America ...
